Decorating - Benneconomy 101- part 3

Ok, so we painted the family room on Friday. The color is sweater green by Ralph Lauren. The paint brand is Glidden. Very inexpensive paint, economical - code for cheap - $7.50 a gallon. What do you think? The color grew on me. Here's the before and after.

AFTER

Big difference huh? All of the furniture in this room is going. I'd like a chocolate brown leather living room set in this room. The carpeting will be removed as well. We are thinking of laying down bamboo flooring, perhaps in a tan color. It's really nice in person.

Happy Birthday Wesley!

Wesley is 16 years old today. I cannot believe it. I know he is ecstatic since among other things he is finally of age to go on a date. I'm dedicating this post to him on his birthday today. He's a awesome son. He's kind, sweet, loving, thoughtful, giving, funny, handsome, spiritual and a good brother to his siblings. Happy Birthday Wesley!!!

New Delivering Wellness Presentation

I love it! If you are interested in earning additional streams of income you must let me know. I am so happy about Melaleuca's new presentation. I cannot wait to use it. Plain and simple, request more information and I would love to share it with you.

I did a training at my house today. I had 6 guests learning about the new presentation. We practiced some basic appointment setting skills. I served finger foods. It went well. I plan to set Georgia on fire with this new presentation. http://www.workathomeunited.com/pamela

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get"

How many women are still waiting for prince charming to sweep them off their feet? I will admit that I was waiting. When I was married the first time I thought that we would just assume our roles of husband and wife and all would be perfect. I do know that I was committed to the whole package. Being wife, Mother, homemaker, whatever. I was ready to get married. I am the loyal and dedicated type. I am the stand by your man kinda girl. It's Us against the world kinda girl. I married the first time in 1991 and we separated at the end of 1995. I remember feeling so embarrassed because it didn't work. There were several other emotions of course but that one surprised me - embarrassment. I paid for the entire wedding myself. I saved for a year. I paid over $3000 for my dress. I wanted everything to be perfect. I may have been ready to get married but what I didn't know was that he wasn't.

I used to regret that part of my life. For a long time I was perplexed about the way things played out. How much of it was my fault and how much of it was because I did not see the signs early on. I may write a book about it someday. It certainly was a blessing in disguise. If I had not gone through that I would not have moved to Georgia. I would have never had met Tony. You can plan your life to go a certain way and things can work out. It seems to me that a lot of times I get close to what I want but never exactly what I want. That is something that i struggle with, knowing what my blessings are, counting them and being grateful. The skill I guess is to take what you get and make the best of it. Tony is great. A great Father, an awesome husband, lover and friend. Really. I am so blessed. Falling in love with Tony was the one thing I did not plan. It happened in a hilarious sort of way. The whole story would honestly be a really good movie. I shall write the screenplay some day. Someday:)

Medication vs. Meditation

I know it's late for this but I had to say something about today. I had a phone presentation call scheduled today which usually takes 22 minutes, I also had a financial advisory board meeting at ABC Montessori School (Halle's school) for the same time. This morning Kyra told me that her PTO performance was happening today at 7 and then I get a call from Wesley at 2:30pm from school telling me that he has a 7pm concert at the Performing Arts Center in McDonough. I was kinda stressed today but I did it all. I got through it all. I was able to drop Wesley off at the concert but could not stay and watch. I did go to Kyra's performance at the PTO meeting though. On the way home I bought Taco Bell for the boys. I cannot wait until Tony gets home. He's been out of town since last Saturday. By the way, I chose meditation.

I was holding my breath

I felt like I was holding my breath since it was discovered last month that my Dad has a mass in his stomach. Since last month he's had a colonoscopy and biopsy and there are growths there too. Today the results from the stomach biopsy came in. The mass is malignant. I felt the breath release and cried. I was so surprised at my reaction because I had said to myself that we will be in praise and worship. We will pray together and like incense our prayers would reach the heavens and worries would be silenced. Okay, now I thought, "What do we do"? It took a few minutes and then I thought, "we keep praying and have faith". Faith as small as a mustard seed.
These are mustard seeds.

My Dad is 78 years old. He'll be 79 this June. My parents have been married about 56 years. That's a long time to do anything let alone live with the same person. I hope that I can have that same longevity.

Mother's Day

Tony is in NY visiting his Mom and working on his sisters roof.
The kids and I went to church
I went to dinner with my Mom, my sister Karen and my niece Jackie.
I did not cook today, I bought a bucket of KFC.
Now I'm going to take a nap and when I wake up I'll watch that Brad Pitt movie Benjamin Button and eat some Butter Pecan frozen yogurt.

Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's!! It's a thankless job with moments of joy.

New Dog

Tony came home today with the neighbors dog. He asked me to come downstairs and when I did he was standing there with her. My neighbors had two dogs, one male and one female. They wanted to get rid of the female, I think because they did not want to spend the money to spay her. I thought she was cute because her paws are white with light brown polka dots. I think she is a Labrador mixed with some kind of collie. Her name was Diamond. We changed her name to Sandy. Here she is we are keeping her for a week to see if she gets along with Dutchess.

Dutchess photo shoot

We got this dog from my sister Karen about 8 months ago. We love her. She's grown on me. Kyra adores her. If she even thinks that Dutchess is uncomfortable she cries. She a female American Pitt Bull Terrier. She still losing teeth. She's about 10 months old.

Kyra and Dutchess...I call her Dutchy
We were thinking of breeding her and had an offer but now she has an appointment to be spayed. She's a very smart dog. Check out how she poses.

I think she was upset with me because I chained her up.

Kyra and Halle with Dutchy

Dutchess after her Saturday bath...so fresh and so clean.

Sweet Dutchy:)

Ohh...the Bennetts, yeah we share everything

Even viruses. Halle came home from school and sat in this new used work van Tony bought the same day he bought the grill and the sink. Oh? did I forget to mention that? Anyway, here's the van. Old van but runs good. Original price that the owner was firm on was $1500. After Tony test drove it and spoke to the seller he made a deal for $800. I told you he was amazing~ He'll be selling the white truck. He wanted a vehicle where he could lock up his tools and keep them dry.

So as I was saying Halle was sitting in this van playing with a toy. I told her to get out of it because we had not cleaned it yet. You know, disinfected it. The previous owners residues were still in it. That evening Halle ate dinner and went to bed. At about 6:39am she woke up vomiting on her bed and comforter. Unfortunately she did not make it to the bathroom in time.

Now to rewind a little bit, I forgot to mention that Kyra threw up on Monday but she felt better after an hour or two so I took her to school. The previous day she drank 3 Boost nutritional supplements so I thought that was the reason she was throwing up. Kyra does that sometimes. She goes overboard and then has a tummy ache.

Also on Thursday evening Kyra had diarrhea so I did not send her to school on Friday.

So on Tuesday morning Halle throws up, so now I'm not sure if they got it from the van or somewhere else or from the Boost. I kept Halle home from school all week. Then Friday Wesley calls home from seminary just a few minutes after Tony arrived home from dropping him off at about 7:00am. Wesley felt sick. Tony woke me up and asked me to pick him up since he had just gone to bed after 3:30am from working late. I woke up and my stomach felt queasy. I figured it was due to the fact that I had not eaten dinner the night before. I just had no appetite. I picked up Wesley and no sooner did he get into the house he goes upstairs to the bathroom and he throws up. He hurls 3 times.

So I whipped out the Soluguard Botantical and began wiping everything down.

Sol-U-Guard Botanical® 2x Concentrate Disinfectant Kills 99.9% of common household germs using citric acid and botanical thyme oil. Sorry I just had to throw in a plug for Melaleuca.

I had done this on Tuesday also but did not wipe down every room. This time I wiped down EVERYTHING. Two and a half hours later I laid down to rest. Only Justin had gone to school and Tony went to work. Everyone else was at home. They seemed fine. Accept for me. I was Sooooo sick. I was queasy and I had diarrhea. I won't describe it but I will say that I did not know whether to stand or sit down in the bathroom. My stomach had cramps and I was in bed until the next morning.

So today is Sunday and I am still queasy and I still have diarrhea. I haven't eaten a full meal since Thursday. Still no appetite. Now it's very quiet. Kyra must be asleep somewhere...huh no she has been sneaking outside without permission and she has done it again. I had to stop in the middle of typing just now and go and find her. She in the house again. Tony installed a door chime on the front door so that I will be able to hear her open the door. If you know Kyra then you know this is typical Kyra. She reminds me of my sister Marcia when she was little.

She looks like her too doesn't she?
