"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get"

How many women are still waiting for prince charming to sweep them off their feet? I will admit that I was waiting. When I was married the first time I thought that we would just assume our roles of husband and wife and all would be perfect. I do know that I was committed to the whole package. Being wife, Mother, homemaker, whatever. I was ready to get married. I am the loyal and dedicated type. I am the stand by your man kinda girl. It's Us against the world kinda girl. I married the first time in 1991 and we separated at the end of 1995. I remember feeling so embarrassed because it didn't work. There were several other emotions of course but that one surprised me - embarrassment. I paid for the entire wedding myself. I saved for a year. I paid over $3000 for my dress. I wanted everything to be perfect. I may have been ready to get married but what I didn't know was that he wasn't.

I used to regret that part of my life. For a long time I was perplexed about the way things played out. How much of it was my fault and how much of it was because I did not see the signs early on. I may write a book about it someday. It certainly was a blessing in disguise. If I had not gone through that I would not have moved to Georgia. I would have never had met Tony. You can plan your life to go a certain way and things can work out. It seems to me that a lot of times I get close to what I want but never exactly what I want. That is something that i struggle with, knowing what my blessings are, counting them and being grateful. The skill I guess is to take what you get and make the best of it. Tony is great. A great Father, an awesome husband, lover and friend. Really. I am so blessed. Falling in love with Tony was the one thing I did not plan. It happened in a hilarious sort of way. The whole story would honestly be a really good movie. I shall write the screenplay some day. Someday:)

Count your blessing. It is truly a gift when you can spend most of your life with someone who is your soulmate. Take it from me. I have been with Lenny now most of my life and I can truly say that he is my dearest BFF. As your sister I am grateful to God that you have found in your husband a great friend as well.
